TRR has released its revised version of the document it originally put out for consultation in May 2011 under the name Draft National Spectrum Planning and Allocation Policy. As a result of the constructive feedbacks received during the consultation period, TRR considered it appropriate to rename the document to Spectrum Planning, Allocation and Assignment Practices.
The revised and final version is now published on the Website and can be viewed below.

A regulation concerning radio spectrum fees in Vanuatu as required under the Act will be developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities for approval by the Minister.

On 6 February 2012, TRR had notified both TVL and Digicel under section 27(1) of the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulation Act 2009 to propose the terms and conditions of a reference interconnection offer for the provision of interconnection of their telecommunications network. Both TVL and Digicel have 90 days to propose their terms and conditions.

Consumer Protection is particularly important in the telecommunications sector as a result of introducing competition which gives consumers service choices for the first time and rapid technological changes which characterize the sector. As a result Telecommunications Radiocommunications and Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR) has released the Consumer Protection Guideline for the respective industry.
